The First Community Foundation appreciates all gifts. Donors are recognized (by name, not amount of gift) in a listing in firstnews, the monthly newspaper of First Community Church. At the time of your gift, you may request to be anonymous. If your gift was in honor or memory of someone, that will be included in the listing.
The person you are honoring or the family of the deceased will be notified that a gift (no mention of amount) was made, assuming you include contact information for them with your check.
We gratefully recognize those members of the Legacy Society who have provided for the Foundation through their planned/estate giving. This may be in the form of:
- A portion or percentage of your estate through your will
- An insurance policy with the Foundation as beneficiary
- IRAs and other retirement plans
- Charitable remainder trusts
- Charitable Gift Annuities
Members of the Legacy Society are recognized at an annual Appreciation Luncheon and receive invitations to other Foundation events as well as updates on Foundation activity. Their names are listed in the luncheon program and special recognition is given when they notify us of their planned giving to the Foundation.
These Legacy members have taken the opportunity to create a lasting testimony to their family and community of the importance in their lives of First Community Church and the continuation of Christ’s ministry here and around the globe.
The impact of their legacy will be felt by others well beyond their lifetimes.
We live on the shoulders of those who have gone before us. Will we only benefit from previous gifts or will we leave a gift for future generations?
Please inform the Foundation office if you have included the Foundation in your estate planning.
